Moorland Rd Part 2

This trail begins outside the Oldfield Park bookshop, Moorland Rd, Bath UK.
 
Chapter one

43 book shop

Number 43,Moorland road is currently the book shop.It sells lots of books including fiction
and other types of books.However in 1910 it was a Draper , then it was Fancy Draper.
FUN Fact, did you know that a Draper sells cloth.
Chapter two

44 Greggs

number 44 is currently a Greggs which serves delicious food. In 1970 however is was a newsagent for 50 years though it changed quiet a bit [every ten years]. way back in 1910 it was a tobacconist which sold cigars.1893 tobacconist 1900 tobacconist 1910 tobacconist 1920 fancy dealer 1930 newsagent 1940 newsagent 1950 newsagent 1960 newsagent 1970 newsagent 2018 greggs

Chapter three

45 Parks Hairdressers

Currently ,number 45 is parks hairdressers. It is open to all genders. however in 1910 it was a stationer and tobacconist, but in 1920, 1930 and 1940 it was Twerton Co-operative. next, it was Bath Co-operative green Grocers for twenty years, after that, it was the house warming center.
Chapter four

46-48 McColl's

McColl's currently takes up three shops. It has been built like that since 1910 when Twerton Co-operative was built that shop stayed as it is for thirty years (1910-1940). It is the UK's no.1 neighbourhood retailer!
However in1893 and 1900 the actual building hadn't been built yet. Then in 1910-1940 it was Twerton Co-operative,After that from 1950-1960 and then in 1970 it was Ace Supermarket Finally in 2018 it is now McColl's.
Cross the road to the adjacent side of the street.
 
Chapter five

49 Fire And Brew

Number 49 Moorland Road,is currently Fire And Brew a bar and restaurant. Their pizza's,which is their main focus, are lovely. In April 2018 two children from Oldfield Park Junior School designed pizzas and they got chosen as the April pizza of the month!
However, in 1893 it was empty, also in 1900 and again in 1970.
Chapter six

50 Backhouse Bet*

Number 50 Moorland Road at the moment features as Backhouse Bet .However in 1920-
1940 this and many other stores hosted the Twerton co-operative.You can get good odds here.In 1920 co-op took over Glass Merchants.

Chapter seven

51

Number 51 Moorland Rood which was changed in every year. The shops have changed and on this list you will see how many shops have changed during the years on number 51. Today on number 51 it is Marrakech Express Shop, but in 1910 surprisingly, it was a Baker Confectioner shop.
Chapter eight

52 Sheriton Jewellers (now empty)

In 1910 it was a greengrocers for three years in row they sold fruit and veg. Then it was a general store you may want to buy a news paper and birthday cake.Then it was greengrocers for two years in a row.Then it was a parkers bakeries you m

Chapter nine

53 - 56 Sainsbury's

Currently number 53-567 Moorland road is Sainsbury's Local, it takes up what used to be two different shops that were number 53 and 54

Chapter ten

57 Bath Opticians

currently 57 moorland rd is bath opticians but in 1970 it was maypole dairy. bath opticians is really useful and the shop is always got the things you need . I always go there and the glasses are cool. Maypole dairy is a cool dairy witch sold cheese and milk.

Chapter eleven

58 Residency

Currently, number 58 Moorland Road is a Sanctuary Supported Living scheme that offers help and support to young adults at risk in Weston-Super-Mare and Somerset. In 1910 it was a Machinist and in other years we don't what is has been.
